Carsten Jung

He was born in 1975 in Gotha, German. He studed in Palucca School, Dresden and than at The School of The Hamburg Ballet. His main teachers were Hans Joachim Metz, Ralf Arndt, German Pribylow, Anatoli Nisnevich, Kevin Haigen. He came to Hamburg Ballet in 1994, became f Soloist in 1998, and Principal in 2004.

His Creations: Thomas Nijinsky (Nijinsky), The Star of the Revue (The Seagull), Carsten (Préludes CV), The Fisher King (Parzival — Episodes and Echo), A Shepherd (Christmas Oratorio), Liliom (Liliom), and solos in Time after Time (Images from Bartók), Winterreise, Valse lente, Nachtwanderung (Songs of the Night), Verklungene Feste, Night and Echo, 1909: Final, VIII.  (Christopher Wheeldon), My Dear Love (Orkan Dann).

Guesting: Queensland Ballet (Australia), Stuttgart, Moscow and Oslo. He worked on Donya Feuer's documentary: The Work of Utopia. He awarded Dr. Wilhelm-Oberdörffer-Prize 1999.
