Audric Bezard

Audric Bezard was born in 1982 and began his dance studies at the age of six. In 1994, he entered the School of Dance of the Paris Opera.

In 2000, Bezard became a member of the corps de ballet of the Paris Opera and participated in all of the company’s major productions both in France and on tours abroad.

Promoted to Coryphée in 2005 to Sujet in 2006, his repertoire came to include roles in Mats Ek’s The House of Bernarda Alba and Appartement, Serge Lifar‘s Suite en Blanc, Rudolf Nureyev’s Don Quixote and La Bayadere, Roland Petit’s Proust ou les intermittences du coeur, Pierre Lacotte‘s Paquita, Maurice Béjart’s Le Sacre du printemps and Lensky in John Cranko’s Onegin. He was also cast in the world premieres of Wayne McGregor‘s Genus (2007), Benjamin Millepied’s Triade (2008), McGregor’s L’Anatomie de la sensation (2011) and Marie-Agnès Gillot’s Sous Apparence (2012).

Since his promotion to Premier Danseur in 2012, Bezard’s repertoire has included roles in William Forsythe’s Pas./Parts and In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated, Escamillo in Roland Petit’s Carmen, in John Neumeier’s Third Symphony of Gustav Mahler, Lacenaire in Jose Martinez’ Les Enfants du paradis and Prince Désiré in Rudolf Nureyev’s The Sleeping Beauty, as well as the title role in Maurice Bejart’s The Firebird.

Bezard was recipient of the 2008 Prix de Danse of the Cercle Carpeaux.
